Nice episode... a bit wandering, but the banter with the "This Modern" guy and gal was funny.

Some other good free options for people looking for good, solid systems that don't cost a penny:

    The EvilHat Wiki
(contains or links to Fate versions WITH setting: Lord of the Rings, Traveller-like, Falkenstein like, etc)

The PDQ# system, at the core of the new game (S7S) from Chad Underkoffler: geared towards adventure and swashbackling action in the vein of the musketeers novels, the princess bride, and so on.

There's tons of others, obviously :)

    Cool, thans for the additions.

I'm glad you liked the show even if it was a bit wandering... heh, you should have heard it pre-edit :)

Shaun and Kristin (and Randy but he wasn't around) are a blast to hang out and game with. We met a few years ago at KublaCon playing a Dogs in the Vineyard variant (Watchdogs at the Watercooler) and have been gaming, hanging out and (more recently) podcasting since then. If you're intrested check them out This Modern Death

One good way I found to get games is to buy stuff for other people... eventually, you get books you never heard about...

also, might be a bit late but since Wizards of the Coast suspended sales of their pdfs, all other companies started offering their products. White Wolf is giving away Exalted for free, and they give a coupon to use for other sales... I think Paizo does something similar but I don't know anything more specific...

Oh, I'm a regular listener of TMD... actually I found your podcasts at about the same time (can't recall which first... but it mentioned the other one, and so here I am).

Yeah, this was recorded before the whole WotC PDF shakedown but I agree, right now is a great time to be buying PDFs from other vendors.

A great place to find old games is "Bookfinder.com" it is a program that searches used book stores.

I picked up Ultimate Powers Guide for Marvel Super Heroes there.

You can also find used books on Amazon.com, there I have picked up assloads of GURPs books. And a bunch of non fiction that I use in gaming. (any type of game you want to run buy the GURPs book on it used, worth the investment)

Another source for cheap books is to go around on the last day of a con and ask for deals. I've picked up many games like that.

Thanks Josh. You bring up a really good point regarding GURPs. There are a lot of systems that produce excellent sourcebooks that can be ported over to other games. Other examples are the Hero lines like Dark Hero, Ninja Hero, Pulp Hero, etc.

I have been told that about the Hero line. My lament is that you have to pay full price for them, unlike GURPS books that can be $4 or $5 dollars.
