Long answer:
Funny you should ask. This forum is sitting on a really old version of Vanilla that is pretty tough for me to tinker with (due to using and old version of MySQL and PHP as well as hosting it on a problematic server). I'm currently in the process of moving everything I host (goodomensgames, narrativecontrol, sadric, etc) to a new host and in doing so I'm upgrading where ever I can.
Vanilla 2 has an upgrade path from 1.1. I've tested it and had good results except that this theme (vanbook) hasn't been updated for Vanilla 2 yet (not sure of it will be), so the forum and the main site looks VERY different after the upgrade. I'm looking at how I can reconsile this and once I do, I'll upgrade to Vanilla 2 and have additional options such as subscribing available.
Considering I love PHP, where do you live furashgf? I promise I'm not a communist.

Okay... serial killing might just be in order. So after the long haul to Vanilla 2.x (we're here), I still don't have a plugin to allow you to subscribe to discussions. I'm sure someone will write it, so I'll stay on the look out.
